Not much time spent out in the garden today, but we still got a lot done. I needed to water & fertilize the garden. I still don’t have my drip irrigation hooked up & it hasn’t rained in a couple days. Most of my plants are so young & have shallow roots, so they need more frequent watering. Also I’ve heard onions are heavy feeders, so my 1015’s were overdue for some fertilization. I don’t know if the fertilizer I’m using – Neptune’s Harvest Fish & Seaweed – is sufficient, but I guess we’ll find out. And, yes, it does smell fishy, but after it’s used in the garden the smell dissipates pretty quickly.
I did get some drip irrigation setup in my strawberry planter. It’s not hooked up to water yet, because I can’t find my hole poker tool. I don’t know what I did with that blasted thing, and I’m too cheap to buy another one. I saw it not too long ago, but I can’t remember where. I’m also missing my drip irrigation tube cutter doohickey. It’s with the missing hole poker tool, but again I don’t remember where I had those tools last. ARGH!!
While I was busy doing that my son & hubby finished putting up the cattle panels on two of the beds. We still need 6 more cattle panels to finish up all the trellises. I need to 2 to screw up on the back of the remaining bed, and the other 4 will arch between the beds to give us more trellis space for my super spreaders like spaghetti squash, loofa, gourds, etc. Hopefully I can get those in the next week or two.
