Bob Smilie, Texas state representative for the Fully Informed Jury Association, joined me today to discuss jury nullification. My conservative friends will likely recoil at the thought of not following the law & setting guilty people free. But as more legislation comes is introduced that infringes on our natural rights to bear arms or how & where we assemble or worship, it behooves us to have neighbors who are fully informed of their rights as jurors. This nation has a long tradition of judging both the law and the defendant. It’s time we returned to that tradition rather than blindly enforcing the laws of a tyrannical government.
