More thawing taking place today and tonight is the last night with projected temps below freezing – until Monday. Temps got up to a balmy 47 degrees, AND our water pressure returned to about 70% normal. All seems right with the world again! We didn’t even light a fire this morning. What a difference a week makes. Last week when it was in the mid 40’s I was bundled up & freezing. This week when it’s in the mid 40’s I was wearing a t-shirt & practically prancing around outside.
I got the cover off the apple tree, the blueberry bushes, and my garden. None of them look too worse for wear, but I lost my beautiful apple blossoms. I figured I would, but I still held out hope for them.
A few of the chickens decided to get out of the coop today. The snow outside their pop door finally melted enough for them to see the ground. I wanted to get the limbs cleaned off the electric fence around the chicken yard, but I realized that there was a power line down. With the fence down the chickens will be able to go in & out as they please, and that hasn’t worked out so well from them the past few weeks because of predator pressure.
By this evening our water pressure had returned to normal, so I got to take a shower & feel human again!
